How To Create Messy Beach Waves + Giveaway

If I had to guess, I’d say there are roughly 2,435,436 “messy beach waves” tutorials online. Right? This is why I’ve hesitated doing one for so long. To me, this isn’t anything new or revolutionary in hair videos. That being said, I still think there are little tips and tricks you can learn by watching someone else do their hair, especially when they bring a professional along.

Meet my hair girl/friend Brittany Gharring. I met Brittany years ago at the Rose Bowl Flea Market with our mutual friend Sydney. I remember being fascinated by her life. She’s a bi-coastal hair stylist/makeup artist who works with top celebrities for movies, TV, magazines, etc. She’s backstage at Fashion Week working her magic in some of the top shows, and she’s a mom of four! Oh, plus she makes rustic gourmet bread like it’s no big deal and is a total foodie, which I love. She doesn’t talk Red Bull with me, but we can talk about salt blocks..(it’s a thing, and I want one thanks to Brittany) Brittany is that friend you can’t help but want to learn more from. She’s the real deal.

HOW TO CREATE MESSY BEACH WAVES

Spoiler alert before you watch this video, I am terrible with a clamp iron. Terrible! Before curling wands even came out, I had already unscrewed my clamp and made a DYI curl stick. That’s what is super great about the GHD IRON we used, it can be used both ways with great results. You can see my original FAVORITE HAIR PRODUCTS post, here.

PRODUCTS WE USED TO CREATE THESE BEACH WAVES: Products needed to create messy beach waves: Lisa Allen of Salty Lashes and Brittany Gharring

GHD IRON

ORIBE MOUSSE– this mousse was intense! My hair was so thick at the root after we blowed it dry.

ORIBE DRY TEXTURIZING SPRAY – if I could only buy one styling product the rest of my life, it would be this spray. I’ve used it for about 5 years now and I’m still addicted. Wait, I can’t choose just one. If I could choose two I’d also pick my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE SHINE SERUM!

SEXY HAIRSPRAY with Argon– I had never used this before, but I loved it! It felt more like a 2-in-1 spray. A mix of hold and shine. I’ll for sure be buying it!

WET BRUSH– the design of this particular Wet Brush is so cool. Oh, and Brittany designed it, so that makes it even more cool in my opinion. But really, finally a brush that doesn’t get stuck in your hair + has an open back for air to travel through cutting down the dry time. Brilliant Brittany!
