Guide to Arizona

As you may know, I am originally from Arizona. We are headed to AZ today to pick up the older girls and see our parents and siblings. I packed this outfit (first talked about in this EARLY ACCESS post) because I can wear each piece together or separate! Here are some of my favorite places to eat and things to do when in Arizona. Lisa Allen of Salty Lashes wearing a BlankNYC suede jacket with AGOLDE jeans, Alexander Wang booties and Ray-Ban Icons in California

PLACES TO EAT IN ARIZONA

BOCA TAQUERIA – formerly Tia Rosa’s. This is a childhood favorite. I always order the chicken enchiladas with green sauce. Their chips and green salsa are my absolute favorite.

SAUCE – the kids mac n’ cheese is SO good. I also love the pine nut/chicken salad.

BARROS – another childhood favorite. My all time favorite pizza. The wings are good too.

CHOP SHOP – great green drinks and bowls

NORTH – I love any restaurant by Sam Fox and AZ has a ton of them. He has now opened several: True Food, Flower Child, North etc in California. At North I love the Italian Farm salad salmon.

LGO – get the dip duo and don’t leave until you grab some homemade english muffins and sea salt cookies from the grocery next door.

ZINBURGER – another great Fox restaurant. Get the zucchini fries with your burger!

JALAPENO BUCKS – green chili and beef burrito and I hear the brisket is also incredible.

TEMARI – really great sushi in Gilbert

HOPDODDY – burgers and shakes. Newport Beach also just got this restaurant.

SNOOZE – one of the best omelet’s I’ve had. Kids love the pancakes.

ZOE’S KITCHEN – love the mediterranean chicken plate

SWIG – famous for their frosted sugar cookies, but you’ve got to try the coconut oatmeal! Incredible.

THINGS TO DO IN ARIZONA

CAMELBACK MOUTAIN – I love to hike. So do my kids. This is a good one.

USERY MOUNTAIN – easier than Camelback, located in the east valley

LAST CHANCE – if you don’t know about LC, here’s a quick run down. All of Nordstrom returns go here and marked down up to 90% off. It’s really amazing when you score something good, like the Wang boots I’m wearing in this post. I bought them, totally new for $60…for real! I will warn you it’s like thrift shopping in a big messy warehouse with hundreds of people all wanting and sometimes fighting over items. I’ve said this for years, but a behind the scenes of Last Chance would make a really great reality show. Also the same regulars have been there since I was in Jr. High buying Doc Marten sandals.

FASHION SQUARE – hands down, best mall. Every high and low end store, all in one spot.

QT- can you tell I’m running out of things to do in Arizona…#onereasonwhyImoved. However, this is the BEST gas station and the only gas station with clean bathrooms. Get a soft pretzel or a BLT on a croissant, you’re welcome:)

TOPGOLF – planning to this with my family this weekend

BUTTERFLY WONDERLAND – the kids all love this place

TEMPLE LIGHTS – I always love seeing the temple lights, excited to show Ozzy for the first time.

TEMPE TOWN LAKE – rent the water bikes. Great workout.

WHERE TO STAY IN ARIZONA

WESTIN KIERLAND – love this hotel. Best location to walk to restaurants and shopping.

HOTEL VALLEY HO – this hotel has such a good vibe. We stayed in one of their two story penthouses, it was as big as our home. Super retro and the banana pancakes are good!

JW MARRIOTT – great for families. Fun waterpark for the kids.

THE PHOENICIAN – such a pretty spot with a view of Camelback Mountain
