If you saw my stories @lisa_allen last week, I had Poppy guest write with a Q&A. The response was so great and Poppy actually enjoyed being the writer. This week I’ve enlisted Avery to guest write with her own Q&A! Keeping reading and check out Avery’s list of teen must-haves for summer!
Q&A with Avery
How old are you?
14
Do you like being the oldest of 4 girls?
Yes. I like that I have more freedom and get to things for the first time before everyone else. I get to experience things first. But, it’s also more responsibility. Sometimes I think the youngest would be cool cause I think my mom will have given up by the time Ozzy is my age.
What’s your favorite thing about Poppy?
“next question please”
What’s your favorite thing about Goldie?
She has the biggest heart. She lies, but she’s still sweet. She’s the funniest when she isn’t trying to be funny.
What’s your favorite thing about Ozzy?
She’s just cool. When Poppy and Goldie were born I wasn’t old enough to remember the cute things they did. But with Ozzy, I get to really watch her grow up.
What’s the best part about living in Encinitas?
The beach. It’s the most chill place I’ve lived (Arizona and Orange County). The people in Encinitas are so cool and easy going. I like that.
Hardest part about being a teen in 2018?
I know there’s a lot of talk about social media being hard for teens, but honestly that hasn’t been the case for me. I think that my moms job has a lot to do with it. It shows us a perspective that most teens don’t see. We see first hand what’s posted on social media is only a small part of what our life is really like. I think it has taught us the difference between reality and what you see online. I know social media can be a huge issue because they compare themselves and think people have better lives or more fun than them. But my mom has always tried to remind us what you see isn’t always what’s real.
What’s the best part about being a teen in 2018?
Parents and adults always talk about their awkward stage when they were our age. I don’t think we are as awkward as our parents were.
What are you most excited about starting high school next year?
New people and a wider range of electives. I want to find an elective I really love.
What rule of mine is the hardest to follow?
No shoes on the stairs and like Poppy the no sleepover rule.
To see my response to sleepovers, read Poppy’s Q&AWhat’s your favorite song right now?
The Nights by Avicii
What do you want to be when you grow up?
A lawyer or marketing director or an event panner because I like budgeting and planning parties.
On a scale from 1 to 10 how much did you like writing this post?;)

Oh and i forgot to mention… great job Avery! Loved this! ?
This is so neat! I just started following and already in love with your IG, style and family! I have a 13yr old girl and although see is sweet… the struggle is real ?
What!! no sleepovers for your young girls? I totally allowed sleepovers when they were under 14 as that is the innocent ages. however once high school hit sleepovers are VERY rare! Feel like that is the time they totally take advantage of you. would rather have girls sleepover here, than my girls sleepover elsewhere. i trust me more than i trust other parents for sure.
so cute!!
