The Intercontinental San Diego

Last weekend our family was able to spend a night away from home and explore San Diego’s newest hotel, The InterContinental! I mean, this staycation could not have come at a better time. We are in the thick of our master bedroom/bath renovation. Jeff and I have been without a room for 3 weeks now, so I could not wait to sleep in a big comfortable bed again, even just for one night!

This was our first experience at an InterContinental Hotels & Resort hotel. Everything from the room to the service was exceptional! Located in the heart of San Diego’s waterfront, right across the street from the USS Midway Museum and in between Little Italy & The Gaslamp. The location is great for first time visitors wanting to get a sense of what San Diego has to offer, as well as locals looking to relax and enjoy this beautiful place we call home.

Our family opted for a one bedroom suite with an adjoining double queen room for Avery Poppy and Goldie, all with waterfront views. The floor to ceiling windows were my favorite part! Goldie and Ozzy loved running back and forth between the two rooms, jumping on the beds. Avery and Poppy loved being in robes and slippers while eating candy and watching a movie in bed. The girls swam at the pool, which we had all to ourselves before the sun set.

The views are stunning! Jeff and I got to workout together for the first time in a very long time. We ended the night at one of the hotel’s restaurants, Vistal. Once again, a gorgeous view! The staff was so kind and sweet to the kids, making sure Ozzy and Goldie had plenty of cheese and crackers while we waited for our dinner to arrive. The accommodations were perfect, truly. We will be back at InterContinental! If our renovation doesn’t speed up, it will be much sooner than later:)
