Weekly Update + Jumpsuits

Do you recognize this colorful wall in these photos from my Instagram profile picture? That picture is the very first time I met our photographer and now friend, Arielle. We had not been back since it was shot 2.5 years ago, until last week for these jumpsuit photos. Arielle has been with us every week since that day. I encouraged her to quit her waitressing job and dump her then boyfriend (both proved to be great decisions ;), she was the first person I told I was pregnant, watched me grow out of my clothes each week, shot Ozzy’s photos just hours after her birth.

She encouraged me to take a risk and put my focus here on Salty Lashes, she drives to LA and back with me for an event I literally have to be at for 15 minutes (without complaint) and reminds Goldie to bring a snack to shoots so she doesn’t lose her mind. Arielle is such a big part of our family and we love her! Seeing these photos at this colorful wall remind me how grateful I am we met that day in La Jolla.

WEEKLY UPDATE

AVERY & POPPY:

Avery moves on from middle to HIGH SCHOOL this week. Holy! 8th grade promotion is a big deal here. I don’t totally get it to be honest. Am I the only one who thinks it’s a little over the top? This happened in 6th grade too at elementary graduation. Kids were gifted phones, laptops, jewelry and I’m like “uhh..wanna go get pancakes?” I had no idea!! I’d like to think I’m more prepared for 8th grade graduation but..I’m not. Maybe I’ll grab her some new VANS since she needs shoes anyway:)  She did get a new FP DRESS to wear that she loves and is currently at Knots Berry Farm with her entire grade, so that’s fun!

If you saw my story on Monday I took Poppy on a date to see Oceans 8, which we both liked a lot! I don’t think Sandra Bullock will ever age. Within a few hours of being home Poppy was throwing up and spent much of the night on the bathroom floor. So maybe don’t order kids sliders at Cineopolis… Also Poppy leaves for lacrosse camp in 3 weeks and I’m fairly sure she’s already packed in to leave carrying this BACKPACK and our favorite TRAVEL BAGS!

GOLDIE & OZZY:

Goldie still has another week+ till she is out of school. She spent today at LEGOland with her school class. I was sitting in the pickup lane at school when they came back. She didn’t see me, but I sure saw her with her tee pulled up like a crop top…#uhh. I was telling Jeff today how cool it is that Ozzy is not a yeller or whiny (yet). She is seriously so easy going and just wants to be part of the action and have fun!
