Happy New Year! Welcome back to another episode of You CAN Sit with Us. We are obsessed with tomatillo salsa. It’s so fresh and bright and full of flavor. I typically save half and used the other half to make a chicken soup that tastes identical to the one at Nordstrom Cafe. Mmmm! I’ll post that recipe later this week! As for this week’s Q&A, we(I) easily got sidetracked from what the questions were and ended up half answering most. If there is one thing I appreciate about Jeff, he gets my sarcasm. I don’t take myself too serious and I’m grateful Jeff gets that and we can freely banter and joke with each other.
TOMATILLO SALSA VERDE RECIPE:
1 bunch cilantro
8 tomatillos cut into quarters
2 green heirloom tomatoes
6-8 cloves of garlic
1 jalapeno
3-4 limes, juiced
1 medium white onion
Throw everything raw and cut up into your Blendtec and blend until semi-smooth. Add salt. Prob 1.5 tablespoons or to taste.
* Sometime we add 1/2 an avocado with extra lime juice. It’s a good way to switch it up!
Try it and let me know what you think!

Hi Lisa,
I love your family blog! I am a Mom to 5 girls (14, 12, 9, 3, and 9 months) so I can relate to the older two always at each other throats ?. My oldest 3 are from my previous marriage, my 2 little ones are from my current marriage… I just had a few quick questions for your next Q&A. 1. How do the older two and your husband get along? My girls can be so disrespectful to my husband at times, and honestly I’m not sure if it’s something I do wrong or age/attitude. 2. What about internet safety with the older girls? It’s a struggle for me to find a balance between letting them be kids/teens while protecting them from the dangers of the internet. We have all the safeguards, passcodes, etc. It still seems like such a scary world. How do you find the balance? Thanks so much!
