AVERY & POPPY:
Avery is in week 3 of Track & Field. Her events are high jump and long jump. I think she prefers long over high. She also had her Water Polo banquet this week. What I loved about her water polo season: she knew no one on her team when the season started. It was easy to see watching the games how well their team worked together and cheered each other on. During the banquet they sat together as a team, when they could have sat with family or players from varsity. It was so nice to see 12-15 high school age girls from all different friend groups come together and end up really loving each other. No drama. Just a group of really good girls.
Today is Poppy’s 14th birthday! Sadly she is upstairs in bed sick. I think she has been sick more often than not on her birthday. Something about the air in March with the seasons changing that gets to her. She wanted to take a SoulCycle class today with Avery and I, which we just rescheduled until she feels better. However is she trying to sleep so we can still have a family dinner at Din Tai Fung (see our TOP SD RESTAURANTS HERE) tonight. For her birthday she asked for a new lacrosse stick which she got a little early and used at her game first game of the season yesterday and scored. Still waiting to hear if Poppy makes the traveling Maddog lacrosse team she tried out for last week. Fingers crossed!
GOLDIE & OZZY:
Yesterday was also Goldie’s first lacrosse game of the season. It was so nice that she and Poppy had their games at the same field back to back. That rarely happens! Thankfully it was close to our home too. My car battery died with 5 kids to take home.. Goldie scored her first goal of the season! She wants a new stick like Poppy and I told her she could get one for her next birthday if I saw her trying her best, being aggressive (she plays attack and might be the least aggressive on her team, haha) and scoring goals. She totally stepped up yesterday!
Oh Ozzy..can you believe Oz will be 2 next month?? I cannot. I always say how physically strong Ozzy it, but seriously…she is insanely strong for her age. She carries boxes and filled grocery bags, her grip is so intense I can’t pry her fingers off. She’s putting words together and follows Goldie around the moment she walks in the door. She’s been asking to go to the “beash beash” (beach) every day since the rain started to slow down. If you saw my Fabletics story the other day she also loves to bark and pant like a puppy while she crawls around the house. Poppy also did this and took it as far as refusing to eat her food like a human, only as a dog off and on until age 4…
