You CAN Sit With Us: Mother’s Day

Growing up I was not the girl who planned my wedding or thought about who I would marry. The only thing I was 100% certain of is wanting to become a mom. I’ve questioned many things in life, but my desire to be a mom wasn’t one of them.

Fourteen years and four kids later it’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that I AM A MOTHER. It’s a huge responsibility and commitment. One I don’t take lightly. There are days I want to run away and hide. I yell, I get frustrated. I want to change my name from mom. Only so I don’t have to hear anyone ask me 1,432,547 questions per hour. I think a lot of moms can relate. But most days I just want to stop time and make sure each of them know they are valued, respected and loved.

Jeff and the kids surprised me with this Q&A video this morning for Mother’s Day. I laughed a lot at their answers! I’m glad they remember little moments like waking them up in the night( they think it was the middle of the night, it was like 9:30) to come watch a movie with me and that they want to continue the morning affirmations we practice when they are moms themselves. In true Avery and Poppy fashion, they are arguing while answering the question what makes me mad. Also, for the record the visor I bought in Hawaii is cool;).

I hope everyone reading this today feels loved. Whether you are a mom or not. You may have kids now, want kids in the future, struggling to have children or not want them at all. Regardless where you are in life, you are loved today and everyday.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for supporting our family. We appreciate you. All of you.
